Clyde Gorman, Senior Project Manager Consultant, for JDResources has become their newest Executive Recruiter. Having been a member of the IT community here in Memphis for over 25 years, his expertise and knowledge of the IT industry comes as a welcome addition to the team. Starting his career back in 1982, Clyde has been working as a consultant throughout all levels of the IT industry in Memphis. He has worked with the Internet since its earlier stages; using innovative technologies he helped to lay the groundwork for what has now become the industry’s standard. His knowledge and understanding of the technology industry’s ins and outs have given him a qualified insight into understanding what clients and consultants alike require when it comes to making job placements.

When asked about making the switch from consulting with JDR to working as an in-house recruiter, Clyde’s reply was, “it was a natural switch.” Having already worked with several Human Resource departments to help select qualified candidates, he was no rookie when it came to finding the right people for the right job. Having software written by someone outside the company -- outsourcing -- has increased by 175 percent in the last 18 months in large companies, according to Evans Data Corp., a Santa Cruz-based IT Research Company. After showing steady growth from the sharp drop-off in May 2001, the latest numbers indicate a large number of new projects being started. However, most of the companies surveyed are turning to outsourcing as an alternative to hiring of full-time IT employees whereas, in the past, most companies turned to outsourcing for additional expertise," says Joe McKendrick, an analyst with Evans Data. JDResources Relocates and Expands in Memphis

The Memphis Business Journal honored JDResources, Inc.at the Small Business Awards Banquet as the winner for Small Business of the Year for the 26-75 Employee Category. Jill Herrin, founder and President/CEO, graciously accepted the award for the company. The judges’ interview process included a financial analysis of the last three years by Bean and Ison, CPAs, a series of interviews both at JDR’s offices and with the MBJ’s panel of judges, and extensive written information about the company.
